Our core technology centers on the recently acquired BMP-478 engine, which is currently the world's smallest, automotive, production, common rail diesel engine. We are in the process of rehoming its production to the United States, establishing a domestic capacity of 30,000 engines a year.
In short, we build the engines and power units that keep advanced equipment running in the toughest environments.
Our primary product is a family of Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) designed specifically for C5ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems on ground vehicles. These systems demand power that is small, light, and reliable, which is why the industry refers to them using the acronym SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power).
The result: unmatched fuel efficiency, minimal acoustic signature, and seamless integration across tactical vehicles, trailers, and shelters.

Unlike traditional gensets that burn fuel inefficiently at low or variable loads, BlueSky’s hybrid APUs maintain high fuel efficiency across the entire operating range — from light to full load — reducing fuel costs and resupply risks.
Maintain operational silence without shutting down. Integrated battery support enables silent watch operations, keeping mission-critical systems online without the noise or thermal signature of idling engines.
Designed for on-the-move (OTM) operations, these systems are lightweight and scalable. Mount them on tactical vehicles, trailers, or deployable kits — wherever reliable power is needed, without the bulk.
Peak shaving allows you to size your power generation system to your average load, no longer requiring you to carry a larger generator to support a short, peak load. Small enough to fit in the bed of a HMMWV or ISV means fewer convoys, less generator trailers, lower costs, and greater agility at the edge.
Developed in collaboration with Army DEVCOM, and field-tested, BlueSky’s Hybrid Power Generation Systems are already trusted in the field – not just a concept, but a combat-ready solution.
